About
Lisa Lanier is a North Carolina personal injury attorney and the president and CEO of a statewide legal practice she founded in 1995. Born in High Point, she represents people injured in car accidents, drunk driving crashes, workplace incidents, and unsafe property conditions. Her practice also covers catastrophic injuries, brain and spinal cord injuries, sexual assault, workers’ compensation, and wrongful death. Before opening her practice, Lisa spent several years representing insurance companies in injury disputes.
Lisa earned both her undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her legal career began in insurance defense at a large law firm in North Carolina’s Triangle region. That experience preceded her decision to establish an injury-focused practice representing individuals rather than insurers. She is admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and belongs to the American Association for Justice, North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the North Carolina Bar Association.
Lisa has worked on significant litigation involving survivors of institutional sexual abuse. She participated in the legal efforts surrounding a $12.5 million settlement for 65 former students who alleged abuse at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. She also worked on McKinney v. Goins, a case in which the North Carolina Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the SAFE Child Act’s revival window in January 2025, allowing previously time-barred childhood sexual abuse claims to proceed.
Lisa Lanier has been selected to Super Lawyers since 2020 and recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and Martindale-Hubbell. She received the North Carolina Advocates for Justice Kellie Crabtree Award in 2025. Her community involvement includes serving on Truist Bank’s Regional Advisory Board and supporting people experiencing homelessness and veterans. She also appears on the nationally syndicated radio segments Two Guys Named Chris and Jared & Katie in the Morning, discussing legal issues through “Lawyer Up,” and lectures on journalism law at Wake Forest University.
