Lindsay E. Van Noy is an associate attorney in the family law practice group at Essex Richards in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her legal practice is focused on separation and divorce, equitable distribution, child custody and support, spousal support, and marital agreements. She also handles matters involving domestic violence and civil no-contact orders, offering compassionate and effective representation to clients facing sensitive family issues.

Lindsay earned her J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law in 2020, where she served as senior editor of the Law & Psychology Review and was recognized with the Dean’s Community Service Award. She received her B.A. in Management & Society and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017, with a minor in History.

Before joining Essex Richards, Lindsay worked as a judicial law clerk for a Domestic Relations Circuit Court Judge in Mobile, Alabama. She then practiced family law as an associate attorney in Birmingham, Alabama, handling a broad range of matters including alimony, contempt proceedings, appeals, and premarital agreements. Her experience also includes mediation services through her law school’s clinic, which strengthened her negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Lindsay is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Alabama. She is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Charlotte, and the Alabama Bar Association.
