About

Lily S. Axelrod is a Spanish-speaking immigration attorney and the founder of Axelrod Immigration Law. She focuses her practice on family-based and humanitarian immigration, representing clients in deportation defense, hardship and criminal waivers, and federal litigation challenging delays and misinterpretations in immigration law.

Lily earned her Juris Doctor with honors from Harvard Law School, where she led the Harvard Immigration Project and contributed over 1,500 hours of pro bono legal work. She interned with the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic and worked on human rights cases through ProDESC in Mexico City. Her academic focus on immigration was grounded in real-world advocacy and international fieldwork.

Lily’s legal career began as a paralegal at Siskind Susser, later evolving into roles that included criminal defense and immigration litigation at Masferrer & Associates in Boston. There, she defended clients with complex criminal histories in both immigration and criminal courts, including post-conviction relief and appeals.

Prior to founding Axelrod Immigration Law in 2022, Lily practiced at Siskind Susser, where she earned national recognition among her peers for her ability to simplify and teach complex immigration topics. Her decision to launch her own firm was inspired by her clients’ resilience and desire for individualized, strategic representation.

Lily S. Axelrod actively serves the immigration legal community as liaison to the Memphis Immigration Court for AILA’s Mid-South Chapter and holds roles on AILA’s Federal Litigation Section Steering Committee and Amicus Committee. She is also a member of the International Bar Association, the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild, and the Memphis Bar Association.

Known for her advocacy, clarity, and compassion, Lily continues to lead in immigration law with an unwavering commitment to justice.
