Leslie Ballin is a highly accomplished criminal defense attorney and senior partner at Ballin, Ballin & Fishman in Memphis, Tennessee. With a legal career spanning more than four decades, he has earned a strong reputation for defending clients in high-stakes criminal cases, including white collar crimes, violent offenses, drug charges, and DUIs. His meticulous approach and proven courtroom skills have made him one of the most respected trial lawyers in the region.
Mr. Ballin earned his Juris Doctor from Memphis State University School of Law in 1977. He previously completed a Bachelor of Arts in Management at the University of Texas at Austin in 1974. Admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 1977, he is also authorized to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Throughout his career, Leslie Ballin has received numerous honors, including being named one of the “Top 100 Tennessee Lawyers” by the American Bar Association and Mid-South Super Lawyers. He has also been recognized as a “Top Attorney in the Memphis Area” by Memphis Magazine and received the “Readers’ Choice” Award from The Commercial Appeal. In 2005, he was named a Fellow of the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers.
Mr. Ballin is a Life Member of the Tennessee and National Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers and serves as an Emeritus Member of the American Inns of Court. He has also lectured on criminal law and served on the University of Memphis Law School Alumni Board of Directors.
