Leon Aussprung

Leon Aussprung brings rare dual expertise as both a board-certified physician and experienced trial attorney. He focuses on medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and health care fraud whistleblower cases. His deep medical background allows him to advocate for clients with unmatched clarity in complex healthcare-related legal issues.

Leon began his academic path with a B.A. from the University of Virginia. He earned his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in 1991 and completed a pediatric residency through duPont Hospital for Children, the Medical Center of Delaware, and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He later earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an LL.M. in Trial Advocacy, with Honors, from Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Before practicing law, Leon worked as a board-certified pediatrician for 14 years, gaining vital real-world clinical insight. His legal career has delivered significant results, including multi-million dollar settlements and verdicts. Notable wins include a $2.7 million verdict in Lackawanna County and a $25 million award in a Philadelphia wrongful death case following infertility treatment complications.

Leon has handled cases involving brain injuries, birth trauma, delayed diagnoses, improper surgical care, and fatal medication errors. His work spans both urban centers and rural counties across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where he consistently delivers justice for severely injured clients and grieving families.

Leon is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and federal courts, including the Third Circuit. He is a Fellow of the College of Legal Medicine and holds memberships in several trial lawyer associations. His commitment to education includes teaching graduate-level health law and publishing on fraud litigation.
