Leen Al-Alami

Leen Al-Alami is a partner at Duane Morris LLP in Philadelphia who advises private equity firms and corporate clients on domestic and cross-border transactions. Her practice includes mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate governance matters. She works with businesses across technology, gaming, chemicals, mining, healthcare, and life sciences. Fluent in French, she also counsels companies in France and French-speaking Canada on U.S. corporate law and transactions governed by U.S. law.

Al-Alami earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2013, where she served as an associate editor of the Journal of Business Law. She also received both a B.A., cum laude, and an M.A. from Harvard University. Her legal education and academic background support a practical approach to complex transactions, corporate structuring, governance questions, and legal issues arising in private equity and cross-border business matters.

Al-Alami has handled significant acquisitions, sales, financings, and strategic transactions for public companies, private equity sponsors, and portfolio businesses. Her representative work includes transactions involving Armstrong World Industries, Exacta Systems, Diversey Holdings, Riskonnect, Catalent, Court Square Capital Partners, Graham Partners, and Crown Holdings. She has advised on transactions ranging from middle-market acquisitions to billion-dollar company sales, helping clients evaluate risk, negotiate terms, and complete important business objectives across multiple industries.

Before entering private practice, Leen Al-Alami worked in government and international communications roles in Jordan and Dubai, including service in the Office of King Abdullah II of Jordan and with the European Union Delegation to Jordan. She has been recognized by Legal 500 U.S. Elite, Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch,” and The Legal Intelligencer. Her professional and civic work includes leadership with the French-American Chamber of Commerce and volunteer service supporting child advocacy and peace-building initiatives.
