Jayme L. Butcher

Jayme L. Butcher is a partner at Blank Rome LLP in Pittsburgh and co-chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Practice Group. She represents clients in complex commercial disputes involving intellectual property, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, employment claims, breach of contract, fraud, and other business torts. Butcher also handles FINRA arbitrations and helps companies develop litigation strategies that support their broader business objectives while addressing cost, risk, and potential disruption.

Butcher earned her J.D., cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2001. She received a B.A., cum laude, in English and political science from Westminster College in 1998. Her academic training provided a strong foundation in legal analysis, persuasive advocacy, and practical problem solving. This background supports her ability to evaluate complex disputes, organize case strategy, and clearly communicate legal and commercial risks to clients.

Butcher has first-chair experience in state and federal courts nationwide. She has also led commercial arbitrations before the American Arbitration Association and FINRA. Her matters include disputes over misappropriation of trade secrets, noncompetition agreements, discrimination, wrongful termination, financial regulatory issues, contractual obligations, fraud, and related business claims. Through litigation and alternative dispute resolution, she helps clients protect confidential information, defend business relationships, respond to employment claims, and pursue efficient resolutions.

Jayme L. Butcher was named a 2024 Woman of Distinction by Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania and received a Pennsylvania Bar Association President’s Award in 2022. She was also inducted into the Allegheny County Bar Foundation Fellows Class of 2019 for her commitment to professional, charitable, community, and public service. Her practice combines courtroom experience, defined litigation planning, and attention to business priorities, helping clients approach significant disputes with practical guidance and disciplined advocacy.
