About

Leah Spivey has dedicated her career to immigration law, a passion inspired by her lifelong travels and cultural experiences. Before becoming an attorney, she worked for several years as an immigration paralegal in New Orleans, gaining hands-on knowledge of client needs and the complexities of immigration procedures. Her early career shaped her commitment to helping individuals and families navigate challenging legal processes.

Leah pursued her undergraduate degree in Latin American Studies and Portuguese at Tulane University, followed by her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2009. During law school, she was a member of the Public Interest Law Journal and served as a pro bono student practitioner for the Loyola Immigration Law Clinic, further strengthening her foundation in advocacy and public service.

After graduation, Leah initially practiced family law in southern Louisiana courts before focusing exclusively on immigration and nationality law. She spent nearly seven years as a Senior Associate with Ware | Immigration, where she gained experience in nearly every area of immigration practice. In 2018, Leah joined her current firm as a partner, continuing to represent clients nationwide with dedication and skill.

Leah’s work includes labor certifications, extraordinary ability petitions, National Interest Waivers, and nonimmigrant visas. She also advises clients facing immigration issues linked to criminal charges and represents individuals before Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Administrative Appeals Office, and federal courts, including the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star and a New Orleans Magazine Top Lawyer, Leah Spivey also holds a perfect 10.0 AVVO rating. Active in professional leadership, she has served as USCIS New Orleans Liaison for AILA’s Midsouth Chapter and chaired the New Orleans Bar Association Immigration Section. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, she brings cultural understanding to her client advocacy.
