Lawrence M. Schantz

Lawrence M. Schantz has dedicated more than four decades to guiding clients through complex bankruptcy and reorganization challenges. His practice emphasizes resolving financial disputes, representing creditors’ rights, and restructuring obligations both in and out of court. Recognized as a bankruptcy specialist, he has extensive experience with Chapter 11 cases and corporate reorganizations.

Lawrence began his academic path at the University of Wisconsin, where he earned a B.A. in 1960 with High Honors. He continued his studies at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Law – Camden, obtaining his J.D. in 1963. While in law school, he was active as President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Lawrence has been admitted to practice in multiple jurisdictions, including New Jersey, Florida, New York, the U.S. Federal Courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His professional involvement extends across numerous associations, such as the American Bar Association, Florida Bar Association, and the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, where he served as Past President. His role as a Certified Mediator for courts in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties further reflects his commitment to resolving disputes effectively.

Throughout his distinguished career, Lawrence has received notable recognition. He holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating and has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America. Additionally, he was honored in Super Lawyers in 2006 and 2007. A survey conducted by the American Research Corporation named him among the Leading Florida Attorneys in Bankruptcy & Workout Law: Commercial Creditor/Debtor.
