About
Jeffrey P. Bast is the founding partner of Bast Amron LLP and has spent 30 years guiding clients through insolvency and complex commercial litigation. He represents corporate and individual debtors, trustees, receivers, creditors, and committees in workouts, reorganizations, liquidations, and contested bankruptcy matters. Known for combining business insight with litigation skill, Bast helps clients navigate high-stakes disputes and frequently finds solutions that avoid bankruptcy when possible. His practice also includes acquisitions, financing, and bankruptcy-related transactions.
Bast earned his B.S., with honors, in Accounting from the University of Florida before receiving his J.D. from New York University School of Law. Following law school, he clerked for judges in both the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. He later advanced to partner at Holland & Knight and Hunton & Williams before starting his own firm. In 2009, he co-founded Bast Amron LLP, which has since become one of South Florida’s leading boutique firms.
Over the course of his career, Bast has litigated insolvency disputes nationwide while also handling transactions involving bankruptcy sales, restructuring, and corporate financing. He has represented clients in state and federal courts, including appellate matters before the Eleventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Recognized for his trial skills, he also counsels clients on avoiding litigation where negotiation and business solutions provide better results. His balanced approach has helped businesses, fiduciaries, and individuals manage some of their most difficult challenges.
