Laurie Ohall is a Florida Board Certified Elder Law attorney who has practiced since 1994, concentrating her career on estate planning, elder law, guardianship, and trust administration. She also assists clients with special needs planning, Medicaid eligibility, and probate matters. Laurie is licensed in both Florida and Ohio and provides guidance rooted in compassion and extensive legal experience.

Laurie earned her B.A. in Psychology from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, in 1991, and continued her studies at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, where she received her J.D. in 1994. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994 and later to the U.S. District Courts for the Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts of Florida, as well as the Ohio Bar in 2010.

Laurie’s professional involvement includes active membership in The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, and Elder Law Sections. She has served in numerous leadership roles, such as Co-Chair of the Elder Law Certification Committee (2017–2023) and Co-Chair of the Elder Law Section (2018–2020). She is also a long-standing member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, where she served as Board Member from 2017 to 2020.

Laurie Ohall continues to dedicate her career to protecting families, seniors, and individuals with special needs through informed advocacy, compassionate counsel, and an enduring commitment to the highest standards of elder law practice. Laurie has received multiple distinctions, including recognition as a Super Lawyer from 2015 through 2022. Beyond her legal practice, she is deeply committed to public education, teaching workshops that help parents of developmentally disabled adults file for guardian advocacy in Hillsborough County without attorney costs. Her work has improved access to justice by collaborating with local courts to make legal resources and forms freely available online.
