Laurence I. Gendelman

Laurence I. Gendelman, Esq., is a founding partner at Gendelman Klimas Edwards, Ltd. and focuses on family law, probate, trusts, and estate matters. He handles divorce, legal separation, parental responsibility disputes, post-decree matters, marital agreements, paternity, protection orders, guardianships, conservatorships, probate litigation, estate planning, and estate administration. His practice further includes LGBTQ family and probate law, non-traditional family matters, and probate and family law appeals.

Gendelman earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School. He earned B.A. degrees in Economics and Political Science from the University of Colorado – Boulder and completed a certificate in Leadership. His education provided a foundation for a practice that frequently addresses overlapping family, financial, probate, and estate issues.

Gendelman began his career working on high-asset, high-conflict, and complex divorce and child custody matters. He later expanded his practice into probate, trust, estate administration, guardianships, conservatorships, and estate planning. He founded Gendelman Law Group in 2017 before helping form Gendelman Klimas Edwards in 2024. He has served as a child and family investigator, child’s legal representative, and parenting coordinator or decision-maker.

Laurence I. Gendelman has held leadership roles with the Colorado LGBTQ Bar Association, Denver Bar Association, and Colorado Bar Association. He served as president of the Colorado LGBTQ Bar Association and has participated in numerous professional committees and educational programs. His recognition includes selections to Super Lawyers Rising Stars and Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, along with awards for trust and estate law. His career reflects experience across family law, probate, estate planning, and contested litigation.
