Lauren Armstrong is a highly respected immigration attorney with over a decade of dedicated practice, specializing in family-based immigration, victim advocacy, and protections for children and youth. She owns Origin Immigration Law and has handled hundreds of complex immigration cases throughout her career. Ms. Armstrong’s commitment to serving vulnerable populations has solidified her reputation as a trusted advocate for immigrants and their families.
Ms. Armstrong earned her J.D. (cum laude) and M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico in 2009 and her B.S. (high honors) from the University of Illinois in 2002. Her academic background and her practical experience allow her to approach immigration law with a comprehensive understanding of the social and legal challenges facing immigrants.
From 2010 to 2012, Ms. Armstrong worked in the non-profit sector in Washington, D.C., as a Program Specialist with Polaris Project’s National Human Trafficking Resource Center. She also worked as a Staff Attorney with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition, providing training, pro se assistance, and direct representation to detained immigrants in removal proceedings.
From 2012 to 2015, Ms. Armstrong advanced her immigration law career at Catholic Charities of Southern New Mexico, managing a broad caseload that included naturalization, DACA, and family-based immigration. She also led key programs serving undocumented children (SIJS) and immigrant survivors of crime and abuse (VAWA, U Visa). In 2015, she joined Noble Vrapi and played a central role in opening and growing the firm’s Las Cruces office, where she focuses on complex humanitarian immigration cases and waivers.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Armstrong is an Adjunct Professor at New Mexico State University, teaching courses on gender and immigration. She has served as a board member of the State Bar’s Immigration Section and is fluent in Spanish, a skill she leverages to assist her clients better. Her dedication to advocacy, education, and legal excellence underscores her commitment to empowering individuals and families within the immigration system.
