Laurann Asklof is a seasoned attorney whose practice centers on Construction Law and Litigation. She represents owners, contractors, and subcontractors in complex construction disputes. With nearly 30 years of experience, she provides practical, business-focused guidance across every phase of a project, from procurement through dispute resolution.

Laurann earned her B.A. in 1982 from Georgetown University. She later obtained her J.D. in 1985 from Albany Law School. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of NY and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY.

Laurann counsels clients on project delivery methods, bidding and procurement procedures, and contract drafting and negotiations. She works closely with school law attorneys to guide public and independent schools through the public bid process and contract disputes. She also represents property owners and municipalities in municipal tax appeals.

Laurann has served since 2003 as principal litigator for the University of Connecticut’s UCONN 2000, 21st Century Construction Infrastructure Program, and the University of Connecticut’s Next Generation Construction Program. In this role, she advises on bidding practices, promotes dispute avoidance, and handles mediation, arbitration, and litigation when conflicts arise.

Laurann is active in professional and community service. She is involved with the American Bar Association: Construction Law Section and the Connecticut Bar Association: Construction Law Section, Executive Committee, Treasurer. She has also served as Vice President (2021-22), past President, past Chair, Mentor Committee, and past Member, Board of Directors, Mentoring Honoree for Professional Women in Construction.

Laurann Asklof continues to guide construction clients, educational institutions, and municipalities with clear, thoughtful counsel. She focuses on preventing disputes whenever possible and delivers steady advocacy when litigation becomes necessary, helping clients move projects forward while protecting their legal and financial interests.
