L. Daniel Mims has built a respected legal career through decades of dedicated advocacy across Alabama. Known for his deep understanding of complex legal issues, he represents individuals, corporations, and municipalities in a wide range of matters. His extensive courtroom experience reflects his unwavering commitment to justice and professional excellence.
Daniel began his education at Troy State University in Troy, Alabama, where he earned his B.S. in 1982. During his studies, he served as Clerk for the Student Government Association and completed majors in American History, Political Science, and Business Administration. He later received his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, in 1985, where he served on the Trial Advocacy Board and won the James O. Haley Federal Court Competition.
Daniel’s professional background includes extensive service to multiple Alabama municipalities. He currently serves as Municipal Court Judge for the City of Bayou La Batre and as Prosecutor for both the City of Citronelle and the City of Satsuma. Additionally, he acts as City Attorney for the City of Creola. His legal insight also benefits numerous corporate clients, including SJ & L, Inc., National Auto Sales, Inc., Exsoltec, Inc., and Andrews Hardware, Inc.
L. Daniel Mims also contributes his time to the Volunteer Lawyers Program of the Mobile Bar Association and serves as Director of the Parkway Senior Citizens Foundation, underscoring his dedication to community service and his enduring commitment to helping others through the law. Daniel’s broad practice encompasses personal injury litigation, construction and termite disputes, commercial and tort litigation, domestic relations, and criminal defense. His practice before the U.S. District Courts of Alabama and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit further demonstrates his comprehensive legal reach. He has been a committed member of the Alabama Association for Justice, the Alabama Bar Association, and the Mobile Bar Association.
