Kristina M. Johnson is a partner in the Litigation Practice Group at Jones Walker LLP, providing sophisticated counsel in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, receiverships, workouts, and commercial litigation. Recognized by Chambers USA as a “powerhouse bankruptcy lawyer” and “expert litigator,” she has more than 30 years of experience representing secured and unsecured creditors, trustees, buyers, debtors, and committees in high-stakes disputes involving distressed businesses and assets across multiple industries.
Kristina earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she served as Associate Editor of the Mississippi Law Journal and received the Dean Robert J. Farley Graduation Award and the West Publishing Company Award. She also graduated summa cum laude with a B.B.A. from the University of Mississippi, where she was honored as a Taylor Medalist.
Kristina is board-certified in business bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification and is the only woman in Mississippi elected as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. She has handled Chapter 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13 cases, including class-action adversary proceedings. Her work has spanned industries such as oil and gas, healthcare, retail, hospitality, real estate, and financial services. She is particularly noted for her role in representing multiple victims in the largest mortgage-fraud scheme in Mississippi history.
