About

Attorney Kevin Murphy is a distinguished labor and employment lawyer based in South Carolina. His practice centers on representing individuals in workplace disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and wrongful termination. Early in his career, he represented major corporations in complex employment litigation, gaining a deep understanding of employer strategies that now benefit his clients. Kevin has tried and won numerous cases before federal and state courts, and has resolved many through mediation and negotiation.

Kevin earned his undergraduate degree with honors in Economics and International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He later earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he served on the Georgia Law Review and excelled in national moot court competitions. He was honored with the Matlock Award, recognizing the peer-voted attorney most trusted to represent others in need. His academic success laid the foundation for his excellence in employment and labor law.

Kevin’s career has been marked by his transition from defending corporations to advocating for employees. Since 2016, he has represented workers facing discrimination, sexual harassment, equal pay violations, and whistleblower retaliation. He regularly handles complex non-compete disputes and defends individuals against restrictive employment agreements. His dedication to protecting employee rights extends to representing victims of workplace sexual assault and whistleblowers exposing fraud and unsafe conditions.

Kevin’s professional achievements include recognition in Best Lawyers in America (2021–2025), selection to Super Lawyers in 2025 following seven consecutive Rising Stars listings, and repeated inclusion in North Carolina’s Legal Elite (2018–2025). He maintains a perfect Avvo Rating of 10.0 and serves as Chair of the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Labor & Employment Section. Kevin frequently lectures on employment law, ethics, and workplace fairness across the Carolinas.

Attorney Kevin Murphy continues to uphold his mission of ensuring that every employee—regardless of position or background—receives the same high-caliber advocacy once reserved for large corporations. His integrity, trial skill, and commitment to justice define his legal career.
