Kenneth W. Masters is a Bainbridge Island, Washington, appellate lawyer and founder who has litigated civil appeals for more than 30 years. He practices in Washington appellate courts, the Federal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Washington Supreme Court, and the United States Supreme Court. His work includes civil appeals, appellate consultations, family law appeals, federal appeals, oral argument, brief writing, and complex appellate procedure.

Masters earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Puget Sound School of Law, now Seattle University School of Law. He served on law review as Lead Articles Editor and made the Dean’s List. He also received a B.A. in Behavioral Science from Metropolitan State College in Denver, supporting his analytical and persuasive appellate practice.

Masters has handled hundreds of civil appeals involving many areas of law. His appellate experience includes constitutional law, contracts, business disputes, corporate issues, debtor and creditor matters, employment law, family law, injunctions, insurance coverage, landlord-tenant disputes, products liability, professional malpractice, real estate, securities, torts, trusts and estates, workers’ compensation, civil procedure, and appellate jurisdiction. He also clerked for Judge Elaine Houghton of the Washington State Court of Appeals.

Kenneth W. Masters is a Fellow of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and a Sustaining Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He has been recognized by Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers, and other professional publications for appellate work. His service includes leadership with Washington bar organizations, CLE presentations on appellate practice, and editorial work for the Washington Appellate Practice Deskbook. Masters helps clients address appeals with preparation, precision, and practical judgment.
