Kenneth (Ken) Motolenich-Salas is a seasoned intellectual property attorney and registered patent attorney, licensed to practice law in both Arizona and the District of Columbia. With a distinguished career spanning engineering, military service, and intellectual property law, Ken provides comprehensive legal support to inventors, businesses, and innovators in the United States and abroad.
Ken earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Notre Dame (1995) and a Master of Engineering in Civil and Environmental Engineering (Summa Cum Laude) from MIT (1997). Following his academic achievements, he served as a U.S. Navy officer in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (Naval Reactors), where he graduated first in his class at the Bettis Reactor Engineering School and served as a Program Manager for Steam Generator Maintenance.
After military service, Ken worked at ExxonMobil Research and Engineering as a Senior Engineer, developing environmental and oil spill response strategies. He transitioned into law by earning his Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) from George Mason University School of Law in 2007, combining technical and legal expertise to serve the innovation community.
Ken’s legal practice began at large international law firms in Washington, D.C., and Phoenix, Arizona, later advancing through boutique and mid-sized firms. He now focuses on delivering Legal Solutions for Innovators™, blending big-firm skills with personalized, boutique-style service in all aspects of IP counseling, prosecution, transactions, and litigation.
Fluent in English and Spanish, Ken Motolenich-Salas frequently assists Spanish-speaking clients with their intellectual property needs.
