John Matthew Orr is the founder of The Orr Law Firm, PLLC, based in Olive Branch, Mississippi. He focuses on immigration law and represents clients with a strong commitment to clear communication and trust. His background includes civil practice and experience working with diverse client needs.
John earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 2017 and a B.A. in English from Mississippi State University in 2014. He also completed minors in Spanish and history and studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Alcalá.
John began his legal career in private civil practice at Farese, Farese & Farese, P.A., in Oxford. He gained hands-on experience in a wide range of civil matters, working both in and outside the courtroom. This early experience helped him build confidence in handling client cases.
John later transitioned into immigration law, working in private practice at a large Memphis firm and then in the non-profit sector. He served as Managing Attorney of the legal program of a Tennessee 501(c)(3) organization, where he handled complex immigration matters and client representation.
John speaks Spanish and works directly with clients to build trust through clear communication. His experience studying abroad shaped his interest in immigration law and deepened his understanding of the challenges individuals face when moving to a new country.
John is licensed to practice in the State of Mississippi and is admitted to federal courts in the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. He is also pursuing licensure in Tennessee to expand his ability to serve clients across the region.
John Matthew Orr opened The Orr Law Firm, PLLC, in August 2025 to provide focused immigration services. His practice is built on direct client relationships, helping individuals and families navigate legal processes while working toward their goals with confidence.
