Ken Harer

Ken Harer is the founding partner and managing partner of Condominium Law Group, PLLC in Seattle, Washington. He has worked with condominium and homeowners associations for more than 20 years, advising boards on general counsel matters, assessment recovery, contracts, construction disputes, warranties, and litigation. Harer also helps associations interpret, enforce, and amend governing documents, giving boards practical legal guidance on the operational and legal issues that arise in community association management.

Harer earned both his J.D. and LL.M. degrees from the University of Washington. He also holds an M.B.A., a B.F.A. in Industrial Design, and a B.A. in Architecture. His multidisciplinary education supports a practice that often combines legal, financial, design, and construction issues. This background is particularly useful when advising associations on building projects, construction defects, contracts, reserve planning, property governance, and disputes involving maintenance or repair responsibilities.

Harer formed his practice in 2000 and has since focused on legal matters affecting condominium and homeowners associations. His work includes reviewing and negotiating contracts, addressing construction and warranty disputes, assisting with assessment collection, and advising boards on interpreting and modifying declarations, bylaws, and other governing documents. He has also written extensively on condominium law, reserves, contracts, building issues, rentals, and association governance, helping boards understand evolving legal and practical requirements.

Ken Harer was inducted into the College of Community Association Lawyers in 2010 and holds the CCAL designation. He has served on a nonprofit board of directors for more than 18 years and has been an active volunteer with the Washington State Chapter of the Community Associations Institute. Harer is also a frequent speaker at industry events and homeowner association seminars and regularly contributes to community association publications.
