Jason Adelstone is a Denver-based business lawyer and international policy advisor whose practice covers corporate law, cannabis law, international law, technology, media and entertainment, and hospitality matters. He advises entrepreneurs, corporations, religious organizations, and cannabis operators on domestic and international legal issues. His work includes corporate governance, business formation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, market entry strategies, and regulatory compliance, with particular experience addressing complex cannabis and drug policy questions.
Jason earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Syracuse University and an M.B.A. from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. He also received a B.S. in Business Management from Arizona State University. He began his legal career as a law clerk with the Onondaga County Attorney’s Office in New York. His combined legal and business education supports a practical approach to transactions, compliance matters, and business planning.
Jason has advised clients on corporate restructuring, contract negotiation and drafting, cannabis rescheduling, Controlled Substances Act compliance, DEA regulations, and international market entry. He is also recognized for his work involving international drug treaties and has collaborated with legal and policy professionals on changing cannabis laws, U.S. and European regulatory issues, and treaty obligations. Before entering law, he worked in the restaurant industry for 18 years and served as a logistics supervisor for the U.S. Antarctic Program at McMurdo Station.
