About
Katherine Myers is a founding partner at Edelman, Liesen & Myers L.L.P., where she focuses her legal practice on employment law. She has represented hundreds of clients in matters involving workplace discrimination, wage disputes, whistleblower protections, and employment contracts, ensuring individuals are treated fairly under the law.
Ms. Myers earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Kansas, where she emphasized Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies and studied abroad in Cairo, Egypt. Her educational foundation supports her thoughtful, globally aware legal approach.
Throughout her career, Ms. Myers has fought to protect employees against discrimination based on race, sex, age, pregnancy, sexual orientation, disability, and more. She also advises employers on maintaining fair and lawful workplaces. Her litigation skills and proactive guidance have helped bring justice to countless clients across Missouri and Kansas.
Katherine Myers has received numerous accolades, including the 2023 UMKC School of Law Decade Award and a 2019 Women’s Justice Award. She holds a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating and has been recognized by Super Lawyers from 2023 to 2024, following her earlier selection as a Rising Star from 2014 to 2022.
An active member of the Kansas City legal and nonprofit communities, Ms. Myers is involved with organizations such as the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, the National Employment Lawyers Association, and the Association for Women Lawyers. Her service includes mentoring students, supporting art and justice initiatives, and volunteering for the Missouri Innocence Project—further underscoring her commitment to equity and advocacy inside and outside the courtroom.
