Kat earned her B.A. in Sociology from the University of New Mexico before receiving her J.D. from Drake University Law School. While in law school, she gained valuable hands-on experience as a Licensed Student Attorney at the Drake University Legal Clinic and as a law clerk at the Polk County Attorney’s Office. This foundation gave her both the academic knowledge and the practical skills to begin a versatile and client-focused legal career.

After graduating, Kat worked as Associate Corporate Counsel for Century Automotive Service Corp., where she focused on contract drafting and negotiation. She later joined McCarthy & Holthus, representing banking institutions in residential foreclosure proceedings and managing a large case volume while concurrently pursuing an Executive M.B.A. Her work as a public defender in Gallup, New Mexico, further demonstrated her ability to handle complex litigation and reinforced her commitment to serving those in need.

Today, Kat Fox is a valued member of New Mexico Financial & Family Law. She focuses her practice on family law and estate planning, where she combines legal skill with a compassionate, tailored approach.
