Kassie E. Ricklefs

Kassie E. Ricklefs is a registered patent attorney who provides comprehensive guidance in intellectual property matters. Her work includes assisting with copyright registration, enforcement, and portfolio management, as well as advising on proper use of third-party copyrighted materials. She also represents clients in patent prosecution, trademark clearance, enforcement, and intellectual property litigation.

Kassie earned her BS in Food Science, summa cum laude, from Iowa State University in 2015 and later obtained her JD with High Distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2018. During law school, she was inducted into the Order of the Coif, participated in the Medical Innovation Group, and competed in the Cardozo/BMI Entertainment and Media Law Moot Court Competition team.

Kassie has received notable recognition, including the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in Copyright Law and Patent Law. She was also named to the 2026 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Patent Law, Technology Law, and Litigation – Intellectual Property. These distinctions highlight her dedication to advancing client interests in complex areas of intellectual property.

Kassie’s career includes experience supporting clients in drafting licensing and confidentiality agreements, conducting freedom to operate analyses, and managing intellectual property portfolios. She has also completed an externship with Judge Leonard T. Strand of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, further enriching her legal perspective and courtroom understanding.
