About
Kari MacDonald has built her career on dedication and compassion, providing thoughtful representation in matters of family law and estate planning. With more than twenty years of experience, she has appeared before courts across Hillsborough, Polk, Pasco, Pinellas, and Manatee counties, guiding clients through life’s most personal legal challenges.
Kari graduated from Michigan State University in 1998 before earning her Juris Doctorate in 2001 from Michigan State University College of Law, previously known as the Detroit College of Law. She became licensed to practice in Michigan in 2001, where she began her career, and later expanded her practice to Florida after passing the Florida Bar in 2004.
Kari’s early practice encompassed Family Law, Civil Litigation, Probate Estates, and Workers Compensation. Over time, her professional focus shifted toward family law and estate planning, where she found her true calling in helping families navigate complex emotional and financial matters. Her commitment to delivering personalized and effective representation has earned her a strong reputation for integrity and professionalism.
In April 2018, Kari completed collaborative law training to offer clients a more constructive and cost-effective approach to resolving divorce disputes. This training allows her to help families find peaceful, cooperative resolutions rather than engaging in contentious litigation.
Kari is an active member of both the Michigan Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association. She also participates in the Family Law and Young Lawyers Divisions of the Florida Bar Association, as well as the Next Generation Divorce, the Brandon Bar Association, and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Through her dedication and ongoing involvement, she continues to uphold the highest standards of the legal profession while helping her clients secure fair, lasting outcomes in their cases.
