Karen Roberts Washington is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience in dispute resolution, employment law, business litigation, and probate matters. She takes a practical, results-driven approach, understanding the complexities of legal issues from both business and legal perspectives. With a strong background in litigation and alternative dispute resolution, she effectively represents clients in a broad range of civil matters.

Karen earned her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, equipping her with the legal expertise needed to navigate complex cases. She also holds a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in English from Texas Tech University, allowing her to assist a diverse range of clients with Spanish language proficiency in reading, writing, and conversation. Her ability to communicate effectively across language barriers enhances her advocacy for clients in various legal matters.

With experience on both sides of the docket – representing plaintiffs and defendants – Karen has appeared in the U.S. Supreme Court, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, all U.S. Districts in Texas, and all levels of Texas state and county courts. Her civil practice spans multiple legal areas, with a focus on employment law, business disputes, and probate matters. She handles cases involving non-compete agreements, discrimination, business dissolution, fraud, fiduciary claims, and estate matters.

Karen Roberts Washington is a nationally respected leader in alternative dispute resolution (ADR). She is a member of both the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the Texas Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators, and a TMCA Credentialed Distinguished Mediator. Karen has also chaired the Dallas Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Section and is a Life Member of the Uniform Law Commission, the Texas Bar Foundation, and the Dallas Bar Foundation.
