Kara earned a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School and a B.A. from Boston College. Her legal education supports a practice involving statutory requirements, workplace policies, investigation of employment concerns, and litigation strategy. Before entering legal practice, she worked in victim services, including with the Children’s Advocacy Center in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and as Chief of Staff at the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance.
Kara has written and presented on employment law issues, including co-authoring a Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education chapter on resolving sexual harassment complaints. She has also addressed questions involving medical marijuana in the workplace. Her practice developed through work at Spruce Law and later Archstone, where she continues to counsel employers and handle employment disputes. Kara J. Johnson combines employment counseling, dispute representation, and prior public-service experience to help employers address sensitive workplace issues.
