K. Thomas Slack

K. Thomas Slack is a partner at Beale, Micheaels, Slack & Shughart, P.C. in Phoenix, Arizona. He represents plaintiffs in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases and has built a reputation for handling complex, high-stakes litigation. His work focuses on serious accident cases, including railroad grade crossing collisions, trucking crashes, construction accidents, and other significant personal injury matters.

Thomas earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, with highest honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He later received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of California Hastings College of Law. During law school, he served on the Moot Court Board and developed the litigation skills that would define his career as a trial attorney.

Thomas has tried numerous catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases involving automobile, motorcycle, trucking, railroad, construction, and premises liability accidents. Throughout his career, he has secured significant seven- and eight-figure jury verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured clients and families. In addition to trial work, he also serves as a mediator and arbitrator in personal injury and wrongful death disputes.

Thomas is a State Bar of Arizona certified specialist in personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers of the Southwest. His work has also been acknowledged in Best Lawyers in Arizona.

Thomas has played an active role in the legal community. He is a past president of the Phoenix chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and serves as a judge pro tem for the Maricopa County Superior Court. He has also served on the State Bar of Arizona’s Fee Arbitration Committee, Jury Instruction Committee, and Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Advisory Committee.

K. Thomas Slack also contributes to legal education. He has served as an adjunct professor at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law and previously taught at the Phoenix School of Law, helping train future trial lawyers while continuing his litigation practice.
