Justin J. Gross

Justin J. Gross is a founding partner of Community Lawyers of Iowa, where he provides comprehensive legal representation with a strong focus on immigration, family law, and civil matters. Dedicated to accessible and client-centered advocacy, he guides individuals and families through legal challenges with skill, compassion, and a commitment to justice.

Justin J. Gross earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000, graduating cum laude. He continued his education at Drake University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2008. During law school, he was a Dean’s List student for five semesters, received the Public Service Scholarship, and founded the Equal Justice Works Drake Chapter, serving as its first president.

Before co-founding Community Lawyers of Iowa in 2014, Justin gained valuable experience as a staff attorney at Iowa Legal Aid, where he handled a wide variety of cases involving landlord-tenant disputes, family law, consumer issues, disability rights, and benefits termination. He also served as lead attorney for the Migrant Farm Worker Project, strengthening his expertise in immigration and advocacy for underserved communities.

Justin’s practice focuses on immigration law alongside family and civil cases. He is admitted to practice in Iowa, as well as in the Federal Courts for both the Southern and Northern Districts of Iowa. A member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Polk County Bar Association, he is actively engaged in the legal community.

Justin J. Gross also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Proteus and participates in local neighborhood revitalization efforts, reflecting his dedication to both his clients and his community.
