Julie T. Muething

Julie T. Muething is a partner in KMK Law’s Business Representation & Transactions Group. Her practice focuses on public and private companies, as well as private equity funds. She advises on commercial arrangements, joint ventures, recapitalizations, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business formation, organization, reorganization, and capitalization, as well as strategies for current needs and future goals.

Julie earned a J.D. from the Donald P. Klekamp College of Law at the University of Cincinnati in 2008, cum laude, where she served as Articles Editor of the Law Review. She earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2002. Her education supports her broad corporate and finance practice.

Julie also maintains a commercial finance practice, advising lenders, borrowers, and investors in debt and equity financing transactions. She counsels clients on corporate matters, key contract negotiations, and practical plans. She serves on KMK Law’s Board of Directors and is co-chair of KMK’s Sports & Entertainment practice area.

Julie has represented clients in major transactions, including American Financial Group, Inc. in a $3.5 billion divestiture and Multi-Color Corporation in a $1.4 billion acquisition. Her work also includes Fortune 500 acquisitions, recapitalizations, private equity acquisitions, global reorganization projects, secured term loans, credit facilities, and international joint ventures.

Julie has been named to Top Lawyers, Chambers USA, The Legal 500, The Best Lawyers in America, Ohio Leading Lawyers, Cincy Leading Lawyers, and Ohio Rising Stars. She was Cincinnati Best Lawyers’ Corporate Law Lawyer of the Year in 2023 and received the William Worthington Law Review Prize in 2008.
