Joyce Gist Lewis

Joyce Gist Lewis is recognized as a trusted advocate with more than twenty years of litigation experience. She has represented private companies, public institutions, and government agencies in matters ranging from business disputes and employment defense to professional liability and catastrophic injury claims. Her appellate work includes arguments before the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and appearances before Georgia’s Supreme Court.

Joyce earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1993 and went on to receive her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 1999. She is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit, all Georgia appellate courts, and multiple federal district courts across the state. Her Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent rating reflects her professionalism and dedication.

Joyce has built her career through leadership and service to the legal community. She represents the Atlanta Circuit on the State Bar of Georgia Board of Governors and serves on its Executive Committee, Advisory Committee on Legislation, and Judicial Evaluation Committee. She has held leadership positions in the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Federal Defender Program, and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.

Joyce has been consistently recognized by peers as one of Georgia’s top attorneys, including placement in the Top 100 Lawyers, Top 50 Women Lawyers, and listings in Best Lawyers for commercial litigation, employment law, and personal injury defense.
