Joy Owenby

Joy N. Owenby is the founder and Senior Attorney of Owenby Law, P.A., based in Jacksonville, Florida. With a legal career built on dedication and client-centered service, Joy brings a wealth of experience in family law, estate planning, and criminal defense. Her mission is to provide individuals and families with strong, honest legal guidance through some of life’s most difficult challenges.

Joy Owenby earned her J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Florida and a B.S. from Florida State University.

Joy began her legal career in public service, building a strong foundation in family and child advocacy law. As legal counsel for Florida’s Guardian ad Litem Program, she represented children in cases of abuse, neglect, and abandonment, ensuring their voices were heard in court. This early experience gave her deep insight into complex family law matters and child welfare issues. Joy also served as a judicial intern in the 4th Judicial Circuit and worked with the State Attorney’s Office in the Special Assault Division, further strengthening her courtroom experience and commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals.

Today, Joy leads a firm recognized for its rapid growth and legal excellence. Owenby Law, P.A. has received honors from Law Firm 500, Inc. 5000, and Seminole 100.
