About

Joseph C. Grassi is of counsel with Barry, Corrado & Grassi, P.C. in Wildwood. After a forty-year career as a litigator, his current practice is limited in time and scope and focuses on criminal defense and Crime Victims Compensation matters. Earlier in his career, he served as a public defender and handled a wider range of civil and criminal litigation, giving him substantial courtroom experience across contested proceedings.

Grassi earned a BBS from Temple University in 1977 and a J.D. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey School of Law – Camden in 1981. He was admitted in New Jersey in 1982. His legal education provided the foundation for a career centered on trial work, evidence, procedure, and advocacy. Over decades in practice, he developed experience preparing witnesses, examining disputed facts, and presenting cases in court.

Grassi has held significant leadership roles in trial-lawyer organizations. He served as president of the New Jersey Association for Justice from 2011 to 2012 and is a past president of the South Jersey chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates. His earlier work included broad civil litigation as well as criminal defense, while his present practice returns to criminal defense and selected matters involving compensation for crime victims.

Joseph C. Grassi brings decades of courtroom experience to a focused practice in Wildwood. His background as a public defender, civil litigator, criminal defense lawyer, and trial-lawyer leader provides perspective on evidence, procedure, negotiation, and trial preparation. For clients facing criminal accusations or Crime Victims Compensation issues, he offers practical guidance shaped by long experience in contested matters and sustained involvement in New Jersey trial advocacy.
