About
Jonathan Wise is a key member of Greenberg Traurig’s Intellectual Property Litigation team, bringing extensive experience advising clients and litigating across industries. His practice focuses heavily on pharmaceutical and medical device patent cases, where he counsels clients on patentability, infringement, validity, and strategic IP matters with precision and depth.
Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Hampshire School of Law in 2005, where he served as Chief Articles Editor of the Pierce Law Review. He also holds an M.B.A. from Temple University’s Fox School of Business and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, creating a strong interdisciplinary background for handling complex technical cases.
Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Jonathan served as Associate General Counsel of IP Litigation at a global pharmaceutical company. In that role, he managed litigation strategy for numerous U.S. Hatch-Waxman Act patent cases, led teams on generic pharmaceutical IP matters, and regularly advised senior executives on litigation risks and outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Jonathan litigated patents at an intellectual property boutique in New York City, representing brand and generic pharmaceutical companies, as well as businesses in the technology and medical device sectors. His broad experience includes patent, trademark, and trade secret litigation, IP counseling, due diligence, and inter partes review proceedings.
Licensed in Pennsylvania, New York, and registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Jonathan Wise is also committed to giving back. He has represented veterans pro bono before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and actively participates in firm initiatives promoting childhood literacy in Philadelphia.
