Jolianne S. Alexander

Jolianne S. Alexander brings many years of varied employment-law experience, shaped by working as an in-house counsel and representing both employees and employers in complex matters. Her background includes handling claims under the Illinois Human Rights Act and Title VII, along with cases involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. She has argued dispositive motions, tried cases before the Illinois Human Rights Commission and the Cook County Commission on Human Rights, and handled civil litigation in state court. She has also presented arguments before the Second District Appellate Court of Illinois and the Illinois Supreme Court on an important disability discrimination issue.

Jolianne earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009 and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in June 2013. She is admitted to practice in Illinois (2013), the Northern District of Illinois (2014), and the Central District of Illinois (2021).

Jolianne has experience across plaintiff, defense, unemployment compensation, and general civil litigation matters covering statutory, tort, breach of contract, and equitable claims. Her work in negotiations has resulted in significant settlements for her clients. She also gives time to mentoring through the Just The Beginning Foundation and helps law students as they start their careers. Outside her legal practice, she enjoys piano, violin, guitar, and painting, and she operates Pimento Creations, LLC, where she sells her original artwork.
