April Glatt

April Glatt is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Chauvel & Glatt LLP, where she represents employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters. Her practice spans employment counseling, compliance, employment litigation, business litigation, and real estate law, allowing her to advise organizations comprehensively on workplace obligations, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

April earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. This academic foundation, combined with extensive professional experience, supports her ability to advise employers on complex legal requirements, organizational structure, workforce management, and California Labor compliance across diverse industries and business environments.

April’s counsel includes guidance on hiring practices, employee handbooks, onboarding documents, internal agreements, employee classification issues, accommodations, harassment concerns, and workplace investigations. She regularly advises on performance management and terminations and defends employers in wage-and-hour claims, discrimination lawsuits, and other employment-related litigation. Her approach emphasizes aligning legal strategy with each client’s culture, goals, and long-term operational priorities.

Before co-founding her firm, April served as a prosecutor with the Assistant State’s Attorney in Illinois and worked as a Staff Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit in Illinois. She also gained significant experience with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and Bay Area Legal Aid, enhancing her litigation expertise and understanding of the employee–employer dynamic.

April Glatt currently serves as Chair of the Labor & Employment Section of the San Mateo County Bar Association. She is a frequent presenter on California employment law updates, workplace compliance, and employer best practices. Recognized as a Woman of Influence and repeatedly named to the Northern California Super Lawyers and Top Women Lawyers lists, she continues to provide strategic, high-level representation to employers across California.
