John W. Walker

John W. Walker has built a long legal career representing clients across Idaho, Oregon, and Washington in a wide range of legal matters. His practice includes criminal law, business disputes, probate, insurance matters, contracts, and real estate cases. Over more than fifty years in the legal field, he has handled appeals, mediations, and complex courtroom proceedings before state and federal courts.

John earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Idaho in 1970. He later received his J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law in 1973 while working as a Legislative Auditor for the State of Idaho and as an agent for Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance. His educational background in accounting and law helped shape his practical and detail-focused legal approach.

John was admitted to the Idaho State Bar and the Oregon State Bar in 1973. He was later admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in 1975 and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1976. Throughout his career, he argued cases before the Ninth Circuit, Idaho Supreme Court, Idaho Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America, including a murder case argued before the nation’s highest court in 1977.

John also dedicated years to legal education and professional service. From 1990 through 1999, he served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Idaho College of Law, teaching trial practice and procedure. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association and held leadership positions with the University of Idaho Alumni Association and several local civic organizations within the Moscow community.

John W. Walker continues to be recognized for his broad courtroom experience and steady legal guidance in both civil and criminal matters. His work has included cases involving DUI, domestic violence, corporations, wills, trusts, probate, business law, and personal injury claims. Clients have relied on his experience, litigation background, and practical understanding of legal disputes for decades.
