John S. Burton, Esq., founder of J.S. Burton, P.L.C., has nearly two decades of experience in estate planning, business law, elder law, and asset protection. He built his firm as a boutique family office environment dedicated to providing multigenerational planning services. His practice integrates tax planning, trust administration, and protective strategies to safeguard client wealth.
John earned his undergraduate degree in Behavioral Psychology from Virginia Wesleyan College and subsequently received his Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law. At Regent, he concentrated on taxation, business transactions, and estate planning. He also holds professional designations as a Certified Estate Planner (C.E.P.) and a Trust and Estate Practitioner (T.E.P.) with STEP.
Over the years, John has been recognized nationally and regionally for his legal skill. He has received the National Trial Lawyers’ “Top 100” recognition in estate and probate, been named among the Top 10 Estate and Probate Attorneys, and honored as “Top Lawyer” in Coastal Virginia Magazine. His expertise also extends to serving as an expert witness in estate dispute cases.
