Joel T. Reighard is an associate in the Real Estate Practice Group at Burr & Forman LLP. Joel earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was Associate Editor-in-Chief of the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Journal. He was elected to the Order of the Wig and Robe and the Order of the Coif. He also earned an M.A. and a B.S., summa cum laude, from Juniata College.
Before joining the firm, Joel clerked for the Honorable R. Bryan Harwell, United States District Judge. In that role, he analyzed pleadings, researched legal precedents, drafted judicial opinions, and attended trials, hearings, and arguments. He also gained experience working for a full-service law firm during law school. These experiences sharpened his legal research, writing, and advocacy skills, providing a strong foundation for his current practice in real estate and corporate law.
