James earned a J.D. in 1998 from Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Editor-in-Chief of the Brigham Young University Law Review. He also earned a B.A. in History in 1994 from Brigham Young University, earning strong academic honors.

James has experience in commercial litigation across many areas. He works on construction disputes, including mechanics lien defense and foreclosure actions. He also handles landlord-tenant disputes, including unlawful detainer actions, and manages contract disputes, land-use issues, and real property matters for clients in a variety of situations.
