John J. Weiler

John J. Weiler is a seasoned tax attorney with extensive experience representing clients in tax litigation, business and estate planning, employee benefit matters, and U.S. taxation of foreign investors. His practice also encompasses state and local tax issues, where he has provided effective representation to both private individuals and corporate entities throughout his career.

John earned his B.S. from the University of Minnesota before completing his J.D. at Creighton University. Following law school, he began his career as a trial attorney with the Chief Counsel’s Office of the Internal Revenue Service in Washington, D.C. While working in the nation’s capital, he also earned his LL.M. in Taxation from George Washington University, further strengthening his expertise in tax law.

John is licensed as a Board-Certified Tax Attorney and a Board-Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist by the Louisiana State Bar Association. His professional involvement includes serving as chairman of the Taxation Section of the Louisiana State Bar, president of the New Orleans Estate Planning Council, and president of the Association of Employee Benefit Planners of New Orleans. He has also served as a director of both the National Association of Estate Planning Councils and the National Association of Estate Planners.

Throughout his distinguished career, John has been recognized in Who’s Who Among American Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America.
