John G. Day

John G. Day is a director in Ashby & Geddes, P.A.’s Intellectual Property Litigation group in Wilmington, Delaware. He provides Delaware litigation counsel to in-house attorneys and leading intellectual property firms in patent and trademark disputes. He represents plaintiffs and defendants before the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. His practice spans medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, consumer electronics, computer hardware, software, telecommunications, and other technologies.

Mr. Day earned his B.A. from Gordon College in 1979. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law in 1985. He gained admission to the Delaware Bar in 1985 and the United States District Court for the District of Delaware in 1986. He was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2004.

Mr. Day has served as Delaware counsel in major patent disputes involving pharmaceutical, semiconductor, medical device, technology, and telecommunications companies. His representative matters include litigation involving Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Gilead Sciences, Fairchild Semiconductor, Power Integrations, C. R. Bard, AngioDynamics, IBM, Groupon, BlackBerry, and Nokia. He serves as Church Attorney to the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware. His experience helps national counsel navigate Delaware procedures, judicial expectations, and demanding intellectual property litigation.
