Andrew C. Mayo is a director in Ashby & Geddes, P.A.’s Intellectual Property group in Wilmington, Delaware. He has practiced with the group since 2010. He provides Delaware litigation counsel to in-house attorneys and law firms handling intellectual property disputes. His practice centers on cases before the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Mr. Mayo earned his B.S., cum laude, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2000. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2007. He served on the Journal of Technology Law & Policy from 2006 through 2007. He participated in the International Trademark Association Intellectual Property Moot Court Team during the same period. He gained admission to the Delaware Bar in 2008 and the federal district court in 2009.
Mr. Mayo handles intellectual property litigation involving a wide range of technologies and provides local counsel support in demanding federal cases. He completed the Federal Trial Practice Seminar in 2013. He previously worked in the legal department of an international telecommunications company before attending law school. His earlier corporate experience gives him insight into the practical needs of in-house legal teams. He has developed his practice around preparation, substantive patent knowledge, and familiarity with Delaware federal litigation.
Andrew C. Mayo brings recognized intellectual property experience, professional leadership, and practical judgment to each engagement. He served as president of the Delaware Chapter of the Federal Bar Association from 2019 through 2021. He previously held several executive board roles, including intellectual property co-chair, secretary, and vice president.
