John E. Tull III is a Little Rock trial attorney with broad experience in complex civil litigation. John earned his B.A. from Vanderbilt University (1980) before completing his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law (1984), with high honors. During law school, he served as Student Writing Editor for the University of Arkansas Law Review, demonstrating early strengths in legal analysis, research, writing, and careful written advocacy.

John also has a strong record in First Amendment and media law matters. He has defended national and local media outlets, including newspapers, television networks, and magazines, in libel and slander cases. He also advises clients on media liability and supports clear, responsible public communication under pressure and public scrutiny.
John serves as General Counsel to the Arkansas Press Association and established the Association’s Libel Hotline to help journalists and media organizations across Arkansas. His work has supported press freedom, access to information, and media professionals facing urgent legal questions related to reporting, publication, transparency, and public accountability across Arkansas.
