John E. Lande

John E. Lande is a shareholder at Dickinson, Bradshaw, Fowler & Hagen, P.C., where he represents clients in a wide range of complex civil litigation and regulatory matters. His practice includes business torts, construction and real estate disputes, creditors’ rights, municipal law, contract disputes, and environmental litigation. He has appeared before Iowa district courts, federal courts, and appellate courts, including the Iowa Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.

John earned his Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Drake University and his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he also received the Willard L. Boyd Public Service Distinction. Early in his career, he served as a law clerk for the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Cedar Rapids and gained litigation experience at a Cedar Rapids firm.

At Dickinson Bradshaw, John chairs the firm’s Cybersecurity, Data Breach, & Privacy practice group. He advises financial institutions on regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and risk management, helping banks and businesses implement best practices to avoid costly disputes. He has appeared before agencies such as the Iowa Division of Banking, the FDIC, and the Federal Reserve on regulatory issues.
