January M. Bailey

January M. Bailey has built her career around helping clients resolve financial struggles through bankruptcy law. Starting as the first attorney hired at a Wichita firm in 2010, she developed her skills representing individuals and businesses in insolvency and debtor-creditor issues. Over the years, she has grown into a recognized leader in her field.

January’s educational journey reflects her strong foundation in both business and law. She completed dual undergraduate degrees at the University of Kansas in Business and Accounting and French in 2005. She continued her studies with an MBA from the University of Cincinnati in 2007 and earned her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law in 2008.

January has achieved many honors throughout her career, underscoring her commitment to excellence. She has been listed in Super Lawyers, Rising Stars, and Best Lawyers, and earned recognition as Lawyer of the Year in Wichita for bankruptcy and insolvency law. In 2021, she was named among a national group of distinguished attorneys under 40, and she became a Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney in 2023.

January’s involvement in the legal community extends beyond her practice. She has held leadership roles with the Wichita Bar Association, including serving as President of the Wichita Women Attorney’s Association and Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee. Her service also includes work with the American Bankruptcy Institute, NACBA, and the Wesley E. Brown American Inn of Court, where she currently serves on the executive board.
