John David Hoover

John David Hoover is a partner at Hoover Hull Turner LLP and represents businesses, professionals, health care providers, and individuals in complex disputes involving business law, professional liability, peer review, officer and director defense, and fine art matters. He brings decades of courtroom experience to high-stakes disputes with financial, operational, and reputational consequences in state courts. He develops trial-ready strategies while considering each client’s broader business or personal objectives. His practice also includes business ownership disputes and election litigation.

John earned his J.D., cum laude, from IU Indianapolis Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Indiana Law Review. He earned his B.A. in Biology and Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. His education and admissions support his litigation and professional responsibility practice in litigation.

John has defended law firms and attorneys in malpractice and disciplinary proceedings and represented health care providers in malpractice, peer review, licensing, and credentialing disputes. He has also represented manufacturers, restaurants, insurance entities, and business owners in commercial conflicts. His art law work includes disputes involving provenance, authenticity, title, and valuation. He also advises art purchasers and has handled recovery and ownership matters involving significant cultural and artistic property assets.
