Jody J. Pilmer is a Colorado estate planning lawyer and a partner at Wade Ash LLC whose practice focuses on complex probate disputes and appeals. He brings more than 20 years of broad legal experience and has tried over 70 felony cases to juries. He regularly represents clients in probate and estate litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, trust administration, and fiduciary matters. Jody earned his J.D., cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1999. He earned his B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Colorado. He also applies extensive courtroom experience when legal conflicts require hearings or trials.
Jody began his legal career at the Adams County District Attorney’s Office and later became a Senior Deputy District Attorney. He then represented abused and neglected children before serving as a Senior Assistant Attorney General in Colorado’s Criminal Justice Section. He created and managed the Attorney General’s first Auto Theft Unit, prosecuting complex organized-crime cases. His trial background directly strengthens his probate litigation and appellate advocacy for clients across Colorado.
Jody J. Pilmer has argued numerous matters before the Colorado Court of Appeals and has helped establish precedent through written and oral advocacy. He has been selected by 5280 magazine to Denver’s Top Lawyers, including in 2022 and 2023. He also teaches and lectures attorneys on probate and appellate topics.
