About
Zachary D. Schlichting is a Colorado estate planning lawyer and a partner at Wade Ash LLC who handles will and trust contests, financial exploitation claims, guardianships, conservatorships, and fiduciary disputes. He brings nearly a decade of prior experience from the Denver Public Administrator’s Office, where he litigated financial exploitation matters referred by Adult Protective Services. He now represents clients in high-stakes probate disputes and works toward favorable settlements while remaining prepared for trial in court.
Zachary earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2008. He earned his B.A., summa cum laude, from Temple University in 2004. He is admitted in Colorado and before the US District Court for the District of Colorado. His education and courtroom background support his work on complex trust and estate disputes involving fiduciary conduct, capacity concerns, asset management, and contested appointments in Colorado probate matters.
Zachary has tried numerous cases to verdict, including a published matter that established new law on civil theft by an agent acting under a power of attorney. He also has been qualified to testify as an expert in multiple Colorado district courts. His practice includes guardianship and conservatorship litigation, and he regularly addresses disputes involving financial exploitation, trust administration, and the appointment or conduct of fiduciaries in contested proceedings statewide.
Zachary D. Schlichting has served in leadership roles within the Colorado Bar Association’s Trust and Estate Section and Trial and Procedure Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and serves on the Investment Committee for the Colorado Fund for People with Disabilities. He has published and lectured on probate, conservatorship, digital assets, and fiduciary matters, reflecting sustained involvement in Colorado trust and estate law and practice.
